-The U.S. Congress has declared the third week in October as “Teen Driver Safety Week”. This was brought about through the joint efforts of State Farm, and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and will be observed every year. The Anthony Telesca Foundation, and volunteers from State Farm observed the week in 2008, by providing guest speakers in the Driver Ed Classes at Cherokee, Lenape, Seneca, Shawnee, and the Burlington Institute of Technology to promote teen driver safety and to tell the Anthony Telesca story.
-In September, The Foundation launched its annual Fundraiser with a direct mail campaign to over 450 friends and supporters. The 2008 campaign was bolstered by two generous grants from State Farm, and Commerce Bank. In addition many private donors continued to step up and contribute to the cause of teen safe driving. There is still time to participate. Click on our tab “Donate”, and use Pay Pal, or send your check made out to “Anthony Telesca Memorial Foundation” to P.O. Box 553, Medford, NJ 08055. You have made it possible for us to offer 2 x $1,000 Scholarships to students at Cherokee, Lenape, Seneca, and Shawnee High Schools, as well as The Burlington County Institute of Technolgy, and to support Students Against Destructive Decisions.
